See update below...The good news is that this thermos has the best insulation I have ever seen. I've left ice water in it in the car for a couple of hours and the ice was still there when I came back. I bought two of these since I liked them so much.The bad news is that they don't last. In both of the units I bought, after a couple of months, the button breaks off and the lid can't be closed, so they end up in the trash. Both of them, same problem after the same amount of time.Too bad because they really keep things cold for a long time.3/4/2012 Update to my review.As a result of my reviews and problems with this product, I was contacted by Thermos management about getting replacement units. This is the first time I've ever heard of a company being proactive and contacting me because of a review I wrote and wanting to make things right. Five stars to the Thermos Company for their outstanding customer service, while most companies don't care after they take your money. I received two replacement unit of a different model (by my choosing) within a couple of days by FedEx. They wanted me to return the old units I'm assuming to determine the cause of the failure to make a better product. Unfortunately I no longer had them. While I don't understand why the original units broke so quickly, I will always be a customer to a company that respects their customers and is proactive about resolving problems.

I bought this mug for my fiance after looking at every other thermos made by man. This was settled upon because of the sippy lip allowing more natural consumption of coffee, top that snaps and locks closed allowing for storing in the side pocket of a backpack with out fear of spillage and the ability to keep coffee warm on his commute. He was very excited to use it so it was used for hot and cold beverages the first week and keep both at their appropriate temperatures for extended periods of time. My biggest and,in fact,only complaint is that the lip snapped off from the hinge after week 3 of use. This mug was hand washed each day and lovingly cared for by my fiance so I see no reason why this should of happened so soon. He super glued it back together and continues to use it, but I'm disappointed in the limited durability of this mug.
