I bought this bottle after smashing two of these : Thermos Nissan Intak Hydration Water Bottle with Meter, Blue which by the way, are great too, but I dropped a couple of full ones, the weight of the water and the height did a number on them, so went to metal instead.So far this bottle has exceeded my expectations. I wasn't sure about first, but I'm glad I bought it. I tested it on a hot day, I put 4 ice cubes with some Gatorade and I was surprised to see that the cubes were still in there even after 6 hours, a couple of those in my car. The cubes of course were not their regular size, but were big enough to keep my drink cold. I then tested the bottle without ice cubes, I put some cold water, which was also cold after hours of being in various locations (office, car, house). The bottle is made of stainless steel inside and out. It is insulated. The manufacturer claims that the bottle is sweat-proof and won't leave water rings; they're actually right, after having soft drinks and water, it remains clear with no stains, etc.The cap is all plastic, it has a nozzle cap with a push-to-open button with a lock, so you won't accidentaly press the button popping the bottle open. Once the nozzle cap is off, a rubber band under the hinge keeps the nozzle cap open and in place, keeping it from hitting you in the nose while you tip the bottle to drink. The rubber band is thick and looks to be made to last. The one feature I miss from the bottle I mentioned above (thermos Nissan) is the carrying loop, but besides that small complaint, I'm very happy with this bottle. I only wash it by hand and use this OXO Good Grips Bottle Brush which works great.The bottle is made in Malaysia, in case you were wondering.Update, as I had suspected, I ended up dropping this one too :) and I'm happy to report that it survived the fall, it now has a dent at the bottom, but it did not break or leak. I'm still very happy with my purchase.Update: 10/01/2012.I'm adding the bottle's height and diameter for those of you whom may need more specific information.The bottle's spout measures about 1 inch.The Bottle is:10.5" Tall.9.5" in circumference. (it is actually just a bit over 9.5")Hope this helps.

In the product brochure it says: CAUTION "NOT FOR USE WITH HOT LIQUIDS". In the Amazon's Product Description: "Featuring Thermos vacuum insulation technology, your food and beverages will stay hot or cold for hours"So the listings' info is incorrect, for some reason this bottle cannot be used with hot liquids. I am now going to give a try to "Thermos Stainless King Beverage Bottle" even though I really wanted this bottle for my coffee since it less resembles a traditional thermos & more a sports bottle.UPDATE: 3/26Impressed by "Thermos Stainless King Beverage Bottle" I decided to give a try to this bottle for my cold water. And I have to say that its elegant design, especially it's intricate cap mechanism, makes my previous Klean Kanteen bottle look crude. And it's much better than Klean Kanteen in keeping the water cold.So with the apparent removing of the misleading wording on the page, there is nothing to keep me from giving this product 5 stars.

I bought this to use strictly as a water bottle, and it's the best I've ever owned. I put in about 15 ice cubes then fill with water and it stays cold without sweating. In a hot car I return from a store to cold water for about 10 hours. I once filled it up before leaving for a weekend camping trip and it was still cool 3 days later (I was using the filtered water inside to take my medications). My husband has been begging me to let him have it, so I'm ordering a second one. By the way, it does a good job of keeping coffee hot, but my coffee never lasts more than a couple of hours so I'm not sure how long it keeps drinks hot.
