Pros:* So pretty!* Easily fits in my car's cup holder. The Contigo, which I used previously, is a tad too fat* Keeps things warm or cold for hours (see chart below)* Very lightweight* Lid comes apart for easy cleaning. I was never sure I was getting the Contigo lid really clean.Cons:* Too tall for my Kuerig brewer* My nose hits the bumpy thing on the lid when I drink. I don't think my nose is abnormally long, but whatever. I deducted a star for this nose bumping situation. My Zojirushi was made in Thailand, not Japan. After reading some reviews that said the Thailand versions were inferior, I panicked and ran some (unscientific) tests against my auto-seal Contigo, which was similar to this Contigo AUTOSEAL® Locking Stainless Steel Travel Mug 2 pack Stainless / Black, although I bought it elsewhere.I filled both my Contigo and Zoji mugs to the top with 195°F (according to the Zoji dispenser temp) water from my Zojirushi electric dispensing pot (Zojirushi CD-LCC30 Micom 3.0-Liter Electric Dispensing Pot, altho I think mine is a slightly different model). Then I took the temperature with this Taylor Digital Instant-Read Pocket Thermometer. And then I put the lids on both mugs and continued to monitor the temperatures throughout the day.The Zoji mug, which lost 73°F over 12.5 hours, definitely beat the Contigo, which lost 103°F over 12.5 hours, in terms of temperature retention.Updated: Argh! I tried to format the table below so that it was easily readable, but the formatting was lost.Time, Elapsed (hrs), Contigo (°F), Zoji (°F), Air Temp (°F)-------------------------------------------------------------------------11:30, --, 193.5, 193.5, 66.014:10, 2:40, 135.5, 158.0, 66.016:47, 5:17, 113.5, 145.0, 70.520:30, 9:00, 98.8, 131.0, 76.523:57, 12:27, 90.3, 120.5, 68.0

This is exactly what I have been looking for in a coffee mug/thermos. It keeps it hot for a few hours and I love the drink spout. I keep it next to me on a table at home and have kids who love to run around. It keeps from having to worry if my coffee is going to stain my couch.

This Zojirushi thermos is excellent. Keeps fluids hot or cold for 24 hours. I really like this thermos since there is no access to hot or cold water where I work. If I put hot tea in the thermos, I have to be careful not to burn myself. The tea is so hot that you think it was brewed a couple of minutes ago. I also put ice and water in it and went hiking outside of Las Vegas area where I live. For the 7 to 8 hours that I was outdoors in 100+ F weather the water was cold and there was still a piece of ice I could chew on! Impressive. Finally, kudos to the company that shiped this thermos. I received it in 72 hours at my door steps! They are very organized and packaging was done good.
