Zojirushi began in Japan in 1918 as a manufacturer of hand-blown vacuum bottles. They are still known today for their high quality vacuum insulated products. This stainless steel food jar is vacuum insulated so it keeps foods (or beverages) hot or cold for hours. Durable and sanitary 18/8 stainless steel construction will not rust, tarnish or stain, and will not leak harmful chemicals. The interior is polished stainless steel with a nonstick coating and is neutral to taste and smell. Tight -fitted lid has a gasket that seals lid to minimize leaks and maximize heat retention. It has a unique lid designed with a vent that allows users to release the pressure inside to make the lid easier to open when the food jar contains hot foods or beverages. A wide opening of 2 and one half inches makes it easy to fill and clean and allows user to eat directly out of the jar.

By Y. Ho
I have a lot of Zojirushi products at home, like thermo water bottle, rice cooker and water boiler....etc.Just got this food jar couple days ago at local Asian supermarket while on sale and use it for two days. it is good, but not that perfect. My wife mix oatmeal and hot soup around 6:00 AM for our lunch, I have my lunch around 11:00 AM. Yesterday it was just warm while I had my lunch. Today, my wife pour some boiling water in it for several minutes to warm up the jar, then pour water out, add oatmeal and hot soup again, at the time I had my lunch today around 11:00 AM, it was steaming hot.It work well if you know how to use it.

By Mimi
Food stays steamy hot after 4 hours. The temperature decreases some after that, but it's still hot. According to the instruction, it keeps food hot up to 6 hours. This food jar is compact and solid. I've only used it for the cooked oatmeal, and it's big enough to put in 16 ounce. The pink color is very pretty, and I like the stainless steel inside. The wide mouth opening is good. It's easy to pour food in, and I can easily put my small hand inside to clean it. It might be difficult if you have a big hand. I have not removed the gasket on the lid for each cleaning. I afraid I might damage it if I pull it out too hard or unable to put it back in properly.

By Greg
I bought this item thinking it would work as well as an old Nissan thermos I own. I was mistaken. Although the stainless steel sides of this container are vacuum sealed, the wide mouth plastic cap has absolutely no insulation. This is like heavily insulating a house and then leaving all of the windows open. The result is that boiling hot food placed into the preheated container is room temperature within 4 hours. This is an incredibly poorly designed thermos.
