UPDATE:Please DO NOT pour though the lid's spout if you are pouring some food-rich liquid,and please don't shake or tip the thing, either:the liquid can get into the lid, and there isn't any way to get the then-deteriorating organic matter from inside it.IF you are pouring clean boiling hot water, then do it all you want.Tea? I'd not worry...Coffee, black, ... hmmm... maybe I'd want to be immersing the top in an Ultrasonic Cleaner periodically...Cooking Mung beans as I did, in it... either don't ever let the mung-water get into the lid, or good danged luck getting the inside of the lid-mechanism clean...I've now bought the Thermos Nissan 48oz wide-mouth thermos, which I find too small for cooking in,but if there isn't anything better, I'll just get another & split the meal into 2...and it's also got a pour-lid, though the design is differentOn the Thermos/Nissan 48oz wide-mouth thermos, if the lid is snugged-down properly,pouring through the lid won't gunk up anything that you can't clean( unlike this Zojirushi )The Zojirushi is still delightful, but I'd only use it for hot water or tea( I don't drink coffee, so I'd not use ANYthing for coffee, see...obviously, your would-do/wouldn't-do is different from mine, right? :)Back to the original program...=====it's a 2-litre thermos, there is no "68" as-in-ounces written on its packaging, that I can find, anywhere.( hence the 20 in its SF-CC20 name: 2.0 litres, see )It's big-enough in capacity,paint lined, ( this is a correction: I'd originally stated it was non-stick,as it was slippery when the paint was new, but that slipperyness died )... so one isn't getting the nickel-steel taste in one's foodsmall in outer-size, given its great capacity,robust,has a vent & pour mechanism,the top is easily disassemblable for cleaning,( but it NEEDS either ultrasonic cleaning or dish-washer, as the top's 2 pieces have inner spaces that can't be reached by a brush... had I understood this I'd have avoided the technique of keeping the lid /held/ in, while I poured-off the water from my cooking mung+rice, as the way I did it got some of that mung+rice water in the 2 lid-pieces,and now getting 'em clean is going to require a stronger ultrasonic-cleaner than I've got.If I'd instead just removed the lid & then stuck a strainer over the opening & poured through that, the cleaning-problem wouldn't have occurred! )it's simply beautiful engineering.I use mine for cooking-in:sift out the sand/dust from mung-beans( I've a FAST metabolism,so mung beans are my primary protein-source,as per Ayurvedic Healing: A Comprehensive Guide's VATA-diet recommendation,& I'm *much* healthier for it! )then wash 'em,then *slightly*-sprout 'em,then get 'em in the thermos.Add boiling water,close,shake around, to clean 'em more.pour-out the now-cooled, hot water,& pour in, to 1cm shy of the inner-top-of-the-chamber fresh boiling water,& close, shake & vent a couple of times.Leave it sitting there until they're cooked!!No continuous-input of power/heat!Far simpler than monitoring a stove( & in the bush where there *isn't* a stove, like where I live... :)Anyways, I'll probably be buying more of these things:My Vata-metabolism needs mung beans,but if any friend visits me who has a Pitta-metabolism( builds muscle instead of nerves ) orKapha-metabolism ( stores fat-reserves to survive diet/famine ),then I'll need to cook other beans for them instead,so I should have 2 of 'em just for beans-cooking.( I use aKelly Kettle USA - Volcano Kettle - Large Aluminum Base Camp Kelly Kettle Complete Kitfor boiling in the bush,and get a Dial Thermometer with a long stick to tell how long you've got before boil-over, btw, as when it boils-over, it does so violently, hence the "volcano" in its name... but with the thermometer & a tinder+twig tipi-fire in the base, you've quickly got boiling water )This is the nicest,easiest-to-clean large-capacity thermos I've ever owned.It comes with a little drinking-bowl inside the upper cup,so if you want to share your soup/whatever with another,that's taken care-of, too. First I bought this 20xa tuff Zojirushi bottle last year around April or May 2012.Here are a few facts I want to point out:1: It is not that tough at all, even with careful use, it has got small dents here or there. The plastic cover of the little "locking mechanism" on the cap has fallen off. (never dropped by me.)2: It is Made in Thailand, not Japan, just let you know.3: The insulation is waaaaaay below my expectations. I put tons of ice cubes in it with half water, and it could only keep ice not completely melting for less than a full day. (For sure, it was in the summer, and in my car.)Conclusion: It is just a very expensive big bottle with average and so so quality. I don't expect it to last more than 5 years, to be honest. I paid the money for the Zojirushi name, and it proved I was wrong.Ps: The logo "Zojirushi" on the bottle is merely a piece of adhesive vinyl. Wow!!!

You'd think with a name like "Tuff Sports," the product would hold up to ordinary use. You'd think that being the most expensive insulated bottle you can buy anywhere, the manufacturer would stand behind the product.What a disappointment.The handle on mine broke after just two months. The handle design is flimsy. It feels sturdy at first; but inside, the handle is actually two pieces, held together by a screw that goes into a cheap weak plastic housing. The design may be strong enough for the smaller size bottles, but not this one. So now my handle has a top half (toward the lid) and bottom half that do not stay together. You cannot use the broken handle to pour or to carry it.I wrote to the manufacturer and explained the situation-- they just said: sorry, the warranty is only good on the insulation. I even wrote back to explain that I was not satisfied with that, and then got no response.I quite wanted to like this bottle. It's the biggest available, has a nice wide mouth, and is easy to pour with the push-button spout. I was living with the fact that it leaks if you get liquid onto the seal of the cap, but it would be hard for me to recommend this product or this company to a friend now, knowing that the handle is so flimsy and the "five year warranty" only covers one small aspect of the product.
