By Customer in CA
This looked so promising and I am so disappointed. It looks great, great quality, closes well (compared to the Rounds containers), but there is a tiny hole underneath, in the blue plastic part. This ruins everything as water get trapped underneath, between the stainless bottom and the plastic, when you wash it. I tried everything: washing by hand, on the side in the top rack of the dishwasher. There is still water going in there. Then it takes days to dry. You can shake it after 2 days, and there is still drops of water coming out... The water drained in my kitchen cupboard, in my son's lunchbox, wetting his other stuff. It's not usable.Customer service at LunchBots explained that the hole is needed to "allow for expansion of the stainless steel due to temperature changes".

By J. Burns
We've been using 3 of these for almost 5 months. We have a ton of lunch containers from various companies, including the kids' Thermos containers. I was looking for something that I could send to school for the kids to have cereal that wouldn't make a big mess. It's too hard to eat cereal from the tiny Thermos mouth. My plan was to put milk in this container and have them add the cereal at school when it was time to eat. I pre-chilled the container with ice water and added the milk. My kids reported the milk was still cold at lunch time. They said they were easy to eat from. The problem was that the lids are just a bit too big for their hands (ages 5 and 7) so the containers didn't get closed all the way when they were done, so the lunch bags were messy when they got home. Their hands will grow, so this is a temporary problem. We've since used them for hot foods as well, primed with hot water. My kids said the Mac and cheese, rice and chicken I've sent for them (at different times) were warm at lunch time. My sense is that they don't keep things quite as warm as Thermos containers but I haven't verified that. We've been hand washing them and haven't had any of the issues with water getting trapped that others have reported. The wide mouth makes them very easy to clean.Pro:- wide mouth = easy to eat from, easy to clean- does a decent job of keeping hot foods warm and cold things cold- Lunchbots customer service is fabulousCon:- lids are a little bit too big for small hands - have kids ask a teacher for help- thermal properties not quite as good as Thermos

By Marie Colantoni Pechet
I have been wanting a wide thermal food jar like this. I've even written Thermos a few times about making one.I have and use other LunchBots products almost every day for my kids' lunches, so was excited about finding this and was sure I would love it. I read the reviews about leaking but basically dismissed them.I was so excited when it came -- washed it -- used it for my son's lunch. And afterwards, I was excited to ask him, "How did you like it?" expecting a thrilled response. What I got was, "Hated it. It leaked all over everything.""Leaked? From where? What was it?""I don't know. It just leaked. It was a mess."I had served nothing liquid in it - in fact, he had chicken and rice for lunch, so it couldn't have been his lunch. So, if you are considering buying this, I just want to add another data point for the leaking issue.LOVE the idea, LOVE the wide-mouth, but the leaking unfortunately makes it a no-go.
