just what I was looking for

Reviews are what convinced me to buy this thermal pot. So I am writing a review based on my experiences in the hope of helping others who are deciding.Buy this pot!I wanted a simple thermal pot that worked. My plan is to take it on trips and make coffee directly into it. The hassle of hauling a pot, cone filter, filters, mug, and coffee (and maybe an immersion heater) is offset by enjoying a liter of really good coffee that will hold its temp and flavor all day.I was fed up with hotel and cabin coffee makers. They were either malfunctioning, dirty, or the coffee that came with was hideous. On my latest trip, I ended up scrubbing out the coffee makers in two different hotels before I could use them. Not my favored way to spend a vacation.So, the simple thermal pot. This one has a glass liner, holds a liter (34 oz) and has a simple screw on lid. Turn half a turn to open and half a turn to close. When fully closed, it kept my coffee a good, almost hot drinking temp for 6 hours and was acceptably warm for a last cup 6 hours after that.Easy to hand-wash.If you want the hottest coffee for the longest time, pre-warm the pot by putting hot water into it, then pouring it out and adding the fresh, hot coffee. I used a Melitta cone to make my coffee into the thermal pot and was very pleased with the result.The design is attractive and clean. I know I will use it at my next get-together. I can use it to hold hot or iced tea as well as coffee- a plus for entertaining.I foresee years of use.

Perfection!

In the past year, I owned two other carafes besides this one. Both had thumb-trigger pour spouts. Both broke within a few months of use. This carafe only requires that you turn the cap 180 degrees to pour (no effort to speak of) and is glass-lined for excellent thermal quality. The exterior stainless covering is beautiful and the price is fantastic. There is no way you can go wrong because it is the best value out there! You won't regret your purchase.
